Ford Kenya party leaders have revealed that they are ready for their grassroots elections that will be held on April as part of a drive to develop the party grassroots structures.
After a consultative meeting of the party’s management committee, Ford Kenya Deputy Party Leader Ken Lusaka said that the elections will cover all levels starting from polling stations up to the county leadership positions.
Lusaka, in a different statement, confirmed that Ford Kenya is a member of Kenya Kwanza alliance while at the same time there are political discussions among all the parties.
He referred to the fact that there are talks online between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and pointed out that dialogue is one of the important aspects of Kenya’s democratic process.
When asked about the health of Ford Kenya leader and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Lusaka refuted the report, which said that he was ill by calling them false and misleading, thus, he dismissed the report completely.
According to the party, these elections are just one of the many ways that the party hopes to fortify its support base at the grassroots level and improve communication with members in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
