Nairobi’s music is about to go down as American rapper Cassidy, the Philadelphia-born artist known for his punchline raps, is set to perform live in Kenya on August 22, 2026, at Masshouse, Nairobi.

Cassidy, whose real name is Barry Adrian Reese, known to his tracks “Hotel” and “I’m a Hustla.”  He collaborated with rappers such as Swizz Beatz and Lil Wayne, placing him as a well-known hip-hop artist. In 2006, Cassidy survived a near fatal car accident, later returning back to music with renewed strength and determination.

His presence to the country could be more of a performance, as he is expected to connect with local artists creating opportunities to Kenyan talent on global platforms. He inspires the next generation of rappers navigating in beats.

The event is set to be a throwback to the golden era of 2000s rap; he looks forward to make an important milestone in his career. His visit is expected to boost tourism sector, hospitality and the creative economy, reinforcing Kenya’s reputation as East Africa’s cultural hub.

The announcement has sparked excitement across the city, especially the hip-hop community, positioning Nairobi as an emerging hub for a global rap culture.
