President William Ruto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting investors as Del Monte Kenya Ltd considers expanding its operations in the country.

The President made the remarks during a meeting with Del Monte Kenya Ltd board and management at State House, Nairobi. The delegation was led by Chairman and CEO Muhammad Abu-Ghazaleh and Managing Director Wayne Harvey Cook.

He noted that the government values investors who commit their resources to Kenya and assured them of full support to establish, operate and expand their businesses, citing the role of private investment in driving economic growth and job creation.

The President welcomed Del Monte’s plans to expand pineapple production capacity to Kibwezi in Makueni County, a move expected to boost agricultural output and create employment opportunities in the region. He also expressed satisfaction with the company’s interest in banana production and processing in Tana River County, which could enhance value addition and strengthen local agribusiness.
