Gospel singer Justina Syokau has been on the headlines again, following the release of her latest musical tribute to President William Ruto for ensuring the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was accorded a state burial.
The new song, titled “Rais Ruto Busu,” came out on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, just days after the emotional farewell for Raila Odinga who died in India while undergoing treatment on October 15, 2025.
The melodious and upbeat track has Syokau thanking President Ruto for what she described as a “historic act of unity and respect”. The singer praised the Head of State, saying he united Kenyans in mourning and gave respect to a man who, over four decades, had been part of the country’s political tapestry.
“Raisi Ruto, pokea busu mwah! Kwa kumpa Raila state burial. Ukawaunganisha Wakenya wote, ukaleta pamoja viongozi wote. Tunashukuru, tunasema asante,” she sings joyfully in one of the verses.
Syokau goes on to celebrate the president’s leadership style and gesture of goodwill, saying he deserves flowers while he is alive.
“Rais Ruto, nakupa maua ukiwa hai, ninakushukuru kwa kucheza kama wewe. Uliheshimu baba Raila, nakupigia saluti, nakucelebrate mwah!”
With her bold and sometimes controversial gospel hits, Justina Syokau is known for using her music to comment on current affairs and national issues.
