Brazil captain Casemiro appeared visibly frustrated after yet another press conference was dominated by questions about Neymar, as fresh uncertainty continues to surround the superstar’s fitness ahead of the World Cup.

The Manchester United midfielder interrupted the growing obsession around Neymar’s situation, insisting Brazil is more than just one player despite the constant spotlight on the former Barcelona and PSG forward.

“Once again, we come here and all we have to talk about is Neymar, Neymar, Neymar,” Casemiro said.

The veteran midfielder said Neymar remains an important figure in the squad but stressed that Brazil’s World Cup ambitions cannot revolve around a single player.

“I think Neymar is a player like everyone else in the squad, an important player among the other 26,” he added.

His comments come at a tense moment for Brazil after reports emerged that Neymar is battling a calf injury that could rule him out of the team’s opening World Cup match.

The injury has sparked intense debate across Brazil, with fans, pundits and journalists questioning whether the 34 year old should still be central to the team’s plans.

The situation has placed fresh pressure on new Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti, who recently recalled Neymar to the national team setup despite concerns over his fitness.

Casemiro’s remarks now hint at growing fatigue inside the Brazil camp, where players appear eager to shift attention back to the team rather than the endless discussion surrounding Neymar’s condition.

For years Neymar has remained the face of Brazilian football, but with a new generation emerging and another World Cup approaching, Casemiro’s message was clear: Brazil wants the conversation to be about the team, not one man.

Whether fans agree is another matter entirely.
