President William Ruto has sent a stern warning to the chief executives of 34 government entities, which are yet to integrate their services with the e-Citizen platform.
Notably, President Ruto had directed all government agencies to onboard their services to the e-citizen platform, including any required payments, to enhance transparency.
Speaking during the first anniversary of e-Citizen Directorate in Nairobi, President Ruto named the said entities yet to comply and asked their CEOs to adhere to the directive within one week or face stern action, which includes dismissal.
"These entities have yet to comply with my directive that their services, revenue payments must be on e-citizen so that Treasury can follow on the revenues been collected by government. They have one week to comply. Otherwise, they know what to do, they can make use of the door, it's as simple as that," said Ruto.
The 34 listed entities named by Ruto are:
Kenya National Public Health Institute, Kenya Health Human Resource Authority, Kenya Water Institute, Tanathi Water Works Development Agency, Water Sector Trust fund, Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board, Kenya Ports Authority and Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).
Others are the National Cancer Institute of Kenya, Kenya Hospital Authority Trust fund, Kenya Nutritionist and Dietician Institute, Health Records and Information Managers Board, National Syndemic Disease Control Council, Occupation Therapy Council of Kenya, Digital Health Authority and Kenya Biovax Institute Limited.
Private Security Regulatory Authority, Nairobi International Financial Center, Kenya Re-insurance Corporation, Financial Reporting Centre, Kenya Institute of Supplies Management, Consolidated Bank of Kenya and Development Bank of Kenya are also yet to comply.
Ruto further listed the Kenya Accountancies and Secretaries National Examination Board, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, Institute of certified Secretaries, Energy, and Petroleum Regulation Authority.
The CEOs of Kenya Power Company Limited, Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, Geothermal Development Company, Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited, National Defence University, Kenya Space Agency and Kenya Shipyard Limited were also put on notice.
