President William Ruto has regretted the sabotage and profiling of people who want to invest in the country by his critics while glorifying those who do not want to invest anything in Kenya.

For instance, President Ruto cited the celebration after the cancellation of the Adani Group’s deal to upgrade Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and the subsequent glorification of those who pushed against the deal.

Speaking on Tuesday, Ruto questioned how the people who were against the Adani-JKIA deal are now heroes when the airport is still in its sorry state with leaking roofs and poor runways.

"Nchi zingine wanajenga airport zao, yetu hapa Kenya sijui ni ya aina gani. Alafu kuna watu wanaongea hapo ooh tumeshida, tumesimamisha kujenga airport. What gain do you get when you stop the building of an airport in your country na huna mpango mbadala?" President Ruto posed.

While at it, however, Ruto insisted that his administration will make sure a new airport is built.

"You have no ideas of how to build any airport, you have no clue of how it's going to be build. Wale wanapinga airport hata hawajawai kanyaga Kwa airport hata siku moja...lakini nataka kuwahakikishia airport mpya tutajenga," he added.

The Adani Group was set to invest KSh 238 billion in upgrading and expanding JKIA, with plans to operate the airport for 30 years before handing it back to the government.
