Comedian and MC Sande Bush, better known as Dr. Ofweneke, has responded to critics of his past marriages. He explained that he is unfazed by social media trolls and the negative attention surrounding his relationships, emphasizing that he has no shame in his two failed marriages.
“I’m not ashamed of my two failed marriages, and I find it interesting how people try to attack me for them. But I remind myself that these are my personal battles, and everyone has their own struggles that we may never know about. Just because I’m in the public eye and people know about my life doesn’t mean they aren’t dealing with their own issues. So I tell myself, the critics have their own battles, and I have mine,” said Dr. Ofweneke.
The comedian’s first marriage was to gospel singer Nicah The Queen. Their relationship attracted attention as they openly shared their love life on social media. However, they separated in 2016 following a tumultuous breakup. Nicah accused Dr. Ofweneke of domestic violence and infidelity, but the comedian denies the allegations.
“I never cheated on Nicah. The day I did was the day I left her. I didn’t cheat, but I did exactly what I was accused of and then decided to leave,” Dr. Ofweneke confessed. The two are now co-parenting their two daughters.
In 2019, Dr. Ofweneke introduced a new partner, Christine, to the public, and they got engaged in 2021. However, after three years together, they parted ways. They share one child, but the comedian has kept the reasons for their breakup private.
Currently, Dr. Ofweneke is in a relationship with Mariam Baraza, whom he introduced as his wife in July this year.
