Why Mt Kenya Should Support Kindiki as the Senior Most Leader from the Region

A section of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders from Mount Kenya counties o Sunday came out strongly in support of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, championing his role as the region’s political leader.

Speaking during the Kiambaa Empowerment Program on Sunday, the leaders urged locals to rally behind Kindiki and focus on development rather than divisive politics.

Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a emphasized Kindiki’s leadership, urging residents to shun tribal politics and unite behind him.

“I have accompanied Kindiki to this event because he is our leader, and nothing will edge us apart,” Ng’ang’a declared.

Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha echoed these sentiments, calling for an end to divisive politics. She urged locals to prioritize development and empowerment over political distractions.

“The time for politics will come; let us now focus on development and empower our people,” Wamuratha said, describing Kindiki as a visionary leader committed to progress.

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi praised President William Ruto and Deputy President Kindiki for their dedication to fulfilling the Kenya Kwanza campaign manifesto centered on the bottom-up economic model.

He dismissed criticism from opposition leaders regarding delayed projects and highlighted the benefits Mount Kenya has already received from the administration.

“If there are people who have benefited from this government, it’s the people from the Mountain,” Sudi stated. He urged Kindiki to focus on development and assured him of unwavering support from UDA leaders.

Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah also lauded the government’s commitment to promoting small-scale traders across the region. He expressed gratitude to Ruto and Kindiki for their continued support and reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to implementing the bottom-up model.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki reassured residents of the government’s commitment to empowering communities through infrastructure development and economic initiatives.

He highlighted ongoing projects such as market construction and road upgrades as part of the empowerment program.

Kindiki also defended former President Uhuru Kenyatta, attributing economic challenges during his tenure to the COVID-19 pandemic rather than poor governance.

“Uhuru Kenyatta didn’t destroy the Kenyan economy; it’s COVID to blame. Nothing was happening then, but now we are on the right course,” he said.

The Deputy President rallied locals to support the government’s efforts, emphasizing its dedication to promoting economic growth and improving livelihoods.

“We are ready to empower our people and ensure development reaches every corner of this region,” Kindiki affirmed.
