Tragedy struck on Monday afternoon when two mechanics at a garage in the Ruai area were brutally attacked and killed following accusations of siphoning fuel from vehicles at the facility.
The deceased, identified as John Oduor Otieno and Emmanuel Oduor Martin, were employees at the garage and were reportedly caught in the act of stealing fuel, prompting an uproar among their colleagues.
Witnesses reported that the alarm was raised by other workers at the garage, which led to a violent confrontation.
According to the parents of the victims, the two men were beaten to death at the scene. When police arrived, they found the lifeless bodies of Otieno and Martin inside the garage, both suffering from multiple injuries inflicted by blunt objects.

Police confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack and are currently being interrogated for their roles in the lynching.

Authorities emphasized that the suspects should have surrendered the accused to the police instead of taking the law into their own hands, as mob justice is a criminal offense under Kenyan law.
This incident highlights a concerning trend in Kenya, where cases of mob lynching have been on the rise.
Law enforcement officials have urged the public to refrain from taking vigilante action and to report suspects to the authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.
In a related incident, police in Emuhaya, Vihiga County, discovered the body of a man outside his home with several cuts on his head.
The body was found lying in a maize plantation, and while investigations are ongoing, no arrests have been made as of yet.
As these cases unfold, police continue to call for community cooperation in combating crime through lawful means rather than resorting to violence.
