Zambia police have released fresh details of the ongoing investigation of the death of popular Zambia model, socialite and content creator Lisa Mutalu, who tragically passed away in Lusaka.
The 25-year old, is a well-known figure for entertainment and lifestyles circles, was found dead at a Lusaka hotel. Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha said police officers have been deployed to establish the cause of death.
“Officers are on the ground. We are waiting for full report regarding the same,” Kaitisha said.
Her passing sparked intense, with authorities claimed Mutalu become unconscious after vomiting, with rumors circulating online suggesting that her boyfriend have assaulted her before her death on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
According to reports, Mutalu spent her evening of Wednesday at a Lusaka hotel where she worked as brand ambassador, accompanied by two female.
Investigators have confirmed a postmortem examination had been conducted and the preliminary finding stated no physical injuries were found as contrary to the allegations of her being beaten. The postmortem examination was conducted at the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Lusaka.
Police further noted that they are pursuing multiple leads, including toxicology reports and witness statements, as detectives are interviewing close friends who were reportedly to be with her days before her passing away.
