Detectives investigating the murder of lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu have arrested a third suspect believed to have played a role in the fatal shooting.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said Noah Kipkirui Langat, a boda boda rider, was arrested over allegations that he conducted surveillance on Mbobu before the lawyer was killed along Magadi Road on September 9, 2025.
Langat’s arrest comes after detectives apprehended two other suspects linked to the killing.
They include Police Constable Julius Cheruiyot, who is suspected of being the gunman, and Nicholas Lemiso Naula, a boda boda rider accused of transporting the suspected shooter to and from the scene of the crime.
With three suspects now in custody, investigators have intensified efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing and identify other individuals who may have been involved.
The DCI said the investigation remains focused on tracing everyone suspected of participating in the operation, including those who allegedly planned, facilitated or executed the murder.
Mbobu was fatally shot along Magadi Road in September 2025, in a case that has since attracted significant attention.
Detectives are continuing to pursue additional leads as investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death proceed.
