Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday expressed his unwavering support for former Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.
Gachagua emphasize that Linturi’s recent exclusion from the government was not due to poor performance but rather the result of the country’s shifting political dynamics.
He spoke at the centennial celebration of the Methodist Church in Kenya at Mikumbune.

He praised Linturi as a dedicated and capable leader who had exceeded expectations during his tenure.
“Linturi is our great son, and I want to say that as Deputy President, Linturi performed beyond expectations. He just got caught up in this reorganization because of the political dynamics of the country, not because he failed to perform,” Gachagua stated. He reassured Linturi that his past contributions are recognized and valued, and encouraged him to remain hopeful, trusting that a new opportunity would soon present itself. “I worked with him and the President, and Linturi our son worked as he was expected to,” he added.

The Deputy President further urged Linturi to stay optimistic, sharing a message of faith and resilience.
“I want to encourage you, there’s always a God of a second chance, and no door is closed by God without another being opened.”
Gachagua was accompanied by several prominent leaders, including area MP Mwiti Shadrack, PS for the State Department for Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi, Meru Woman Representative Elizabeth Kailemia, Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Susan Ngugi, and Nominated MP Dorothy Muthoni Ikiara.
