President William Ruto has unveiled a series of major development projects in Kwale County during his coastal region tour , including an industrial park, affordable housing, a modern market, and a cotton ginnery.
On the second day of his tour of the coastal region, President Ruto emphasized that these initiatives are designed to generate employment opportunities for thousands of young people in the area.
The President’s tour began with the inauguration of the Kinango Technical Vocational College, which is equipped with approximately 100 computers aimed at enhancing digital skills among local youths.
Ruto announced that his administration plans to establish ICT hubs in every ward across the country, providing young people with resources to engage in online business and improve their livelihoods.

Ruto also assured the residents of Kwale that Sh1.5 billion has been allocated for expanding electricity connectivity to about 20,000 locals. “We want to ensure that every corner of Kwale has access to power. Let us know where the gaps are so we can address them,” he stated during his visit to Kinango.
In LungaLunga, where he launched the Mwananyamala Industrial Park, Ruto revealed that the project will be funded with Sh250 million from his administration, matching the Sh250 million contributed by the Kwale County government.
The industrial park is expected to facilitate value addition for local products, benefiting farmers by enabling them to process and market their produce more effectively.
During a visit to Kwale town, Ruto also inaugurated the construction of affordable housing. He reiterated his commitment to inclusivity, emphasizing that his administration seeks to accommodate all Kenyans regardless of their tribe or political affiliation.
By incorporating opposition members into his cabinet, Ruto aims to unlock the country’s full potential and foster national unity.
“I have formed a cabinet that represents the diversity of our nation to ensure we work together to address our challenges and achieve development,” Ruto said.
The President called on all leaders and citizens to unite and focus on progress. He criticized political divisions that hinder project implementation and urged for a collaborative approach to national development.

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi acknowledged the role of youth activism in prompting the President to make tough decisions for the nation’s benefit.
“We took time to discuss and address the concerns of the youth. We appreciate the President and opposition leaders for setting aside their differences for the greater good,” Kingi noted.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi emphasized the importance of peace and unity for effective governance. “If there are issues, let us raise them with the President constructively and avoid allowing politics to cost lives,” Mudavadi urged.
Cabinet Secretary nominee for Trade, Investment, and Industry, Salim Mvurya, expressed his readiness to serve and cautioned against divisive rhetoric. He urged citizens to support President Ruto’s agenda of national unity.
Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, who accompanied the President, highlighted past achievements under former Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy, Salim Mvurya. She praised the national government’s efforts in providing essential services like water to Kwale residents.
