The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) today welcomed a high-level delegation from the People’s Republic of China, in a visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in security and forensic science.

The delegation was led by Mr. Liu Guozhou, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province and Director General of Public Security.

Hosted at the DCI National Forensics Laboratory, the delegation was received by Director of Forensics, Ms. Rosemary Kuraru.

She guided the visitors through the facility’s state-of-the-art forensic units, showcasing Kenya’s growing capacity in modern crime investigation and evidence analysis.

The visit provided an important platform for mutual exchange of knowledge, with discussions focusing on the use of advanced technology to bolster national security frameworks and improve the efficiency of forensic investigations.

“This engagement signifies our shared commitment to building safer societies through innovation and international collaboration,” Ms. Kuraru said. “The exchange of expertise and technology is vital in staying ahead of evolving crime trends.”

Mr. Liu commended the progress made by the DCI in forensic science and expressed interest in deepening cooperation through joint training programs, technology exchange, and capacity-building initiatives.

The strategic partnership underscores the importance of global cooperation in addressing transnational crime and strengthening investigative capabilities.

It reflects Kenya’s continued efforts to adopt cutting-edge tools and international best practices in the fight against crime.

The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of both parties’ commitment to working together to build safer and more secure communities through sustained dialogue and collaboration.
