As the festive season is coming, Kenyans have been reminded to exercise extreme caution on the roads, with the transport and creative sectors stakeholders pleading for attention to their alarm of the surge of accidents and deaths on the roads that are the result of the holidays.

While talking at the launch of the Festive Season Road Safety Campaign in Nairobi, Notewise Music Hub Artistic Director Aol Onyango said the program will depend on close collaboration between different road safety agencies and the creative industry players. The campaign intends to disseminate safety messages through better policing as well as through new and creative methods such as music, community engagement, and creative outreach.

Onyango said the involvement of many sectors in the issue would help enlighten the public in general, especially when large volumes of people are traveling and hence the likelihood of incidents caused by reckless driving is high.

The campaign, among other things, will sponsor a sensitization walk on the 23rd of November 2025, starting at the main entrance of Uhuru Park. The walk is planned by the organizers to be a platform for the public to be rallied into responsible road behaviour and also be reminded of their collective responsibility in ensuring safety on Kenyan roads during the festive period.

The stakeholders urge motorists, pedestrians, and public transport operators to be alert and obey traffic rules as a measure to help put an end to the trend of road carnage during the festive ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌season.
