The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) has quashed the decision by the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to expel nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba from the party.
In its ruling, the tribunal said the disciplinary proceedings were marred by legal irregularities and denied Orwoba a fair hearing against allegations of disloyalty and gross misconduct.
As such, the tribunal reinstated the lawmaker as a member of the President William Ruto-led outfit and directed UDA to reverse any actions taken following her expulsion.
Following Orwoba’s expulsion, UDA nominated Consolata Wabwire as her replacement in the Upper House.
Wabwire was officially sworn in on Wednesday, August 20, to assume her position as the nominated senator by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi.
