Former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo died following a fatal road crash in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025. Reports indicate that he was travelling in his Mercedes-Benz along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway, near Karai in Naivasha, when his car collided head-on with a passenger bus. The impact was severe, and he was declared dead at the scene moments after the accident.
