Shock and grief have spread throughout Ngarariga Village in Limuru, Kiambu County, after the untimely passing of Victor Kimani, a 16-year-old boy, only a few days after he underwent circumcision.

The tragic event has made the family, who are demanding to know the truth, asking what exactly happened that led to his death.

The relatives say that Victor had just gone through the operation and men who were given the task of showing and supervising his healing took care of him. However, the family reports that the men responsible for the care have escaped and thus, they have expressed fear that negligence or even a murder may be involved.

Victor’s family and friends who had been making arrangements to celebrate his coming of age this Saturday are now mourning a loss that has both shocked and deeply hurt them.

They demand the immediate investigation and the calling to account of those who were trusted with his care after the circumcision.

Coordinate the community members and child welfare advocates, who have advised parents to be more watchful of boys going through circumcision. They have mentioned a rise in the cases of minors who are sexually abused and neglected during the recovery period.

Victor’s corpse has been taken to Tigoni Hospital Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The Police investigations have been launched
