Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea has opened up about the quiet dissolution of her relationship with the father of her child, shedding light on the emotional challenges that can follow parenthood.
In a recent interview that has gained widespread attention online, the artist—born Chinsea Lee—spoke candidly about the end of her relationship with her ex-partner, Rob. The couple, once known for their strong bond and seemingly perfect connection, parted ways after becoming parents to their son, Rajeiro Lee.
“We were really close, like twins,” Shenseea revealed during the interview. “We had that deep connection—you know, the kind where you miss the person even when they’re just in the next room.” However, she said that everything changed after the birth of their son. What had once felt unshakeable began to fade as they transitioned into parenthood.
The 28-year-old singer shared her belief that no one can ever truly choose the perfect partner to start a family with, as people inevitably change—especially after the arrival of a child. “I don’t think you’re ever going to find the right person to have kids with,” she said. “Because people change after you give birth.”
Shenseea emphasised that the breakup was not caused by scandal or conflict, but by a gradual emotional distance. Despite their once-strong bond, the two have now completely lost contact. “We’re not even in touch,” she added.
The remarks have resonated with many fans, highlighting a relatable truth: that even deep love can be challenged by the pressures and changes of new parenthood. Shenseea’s honesty has sparked conversation around the often-unspoken realities of relationships after childbirth, particularly in the public eye.
