Salome Wanjiru, the lady accused of killing her boyfriend Conrad Nyabuto after reportedly stabbing him a record 27 times, has maintained her innocence.

Appearing before Thika High Court’s Justice Florence Muchemi, Wanjiru pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and was released on a KSh 300,000 bond pending further hearing of the case.

In the December 17, 2024 incident, Wanjiru is believed to have stabbed Nyabuto following a disagreement after he visited her house in Ruiru.

Nyabuto’s family expressed fear of not finding justice for their kin, as a senior politician in Kiambu county, who is related to the suspect, is trying to interfere with the investigations.

The family claimed that despite glaring evidence linking Wanjiru to the killing, little is being done to have the suspect face the law.

Notably, Wanjiru’s case has garnered significant public attention as it comes with a heightened fight against gender-based violence.
