Nine people have lost their lives in a grisly road accident in the Soy area along the Eldoret-Kitale Highway in Uasin Gishu county.
The Friday, January 3, accident involved a lorry and a 14-seater matatu.
Confirming the accident, Uasin Gishu county police commander Benjamin Mwanthi said the lorry rammed into the matatu belonging to the Great Rift company, killing nine people on the spot.
Four other people sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
