Safaricom Director of Brand and Marketing, Zizwe Awuor Vundla, expressed excitement as the company unveiled the Chapa Dimba All-Stars team.
The group of 32 talented players, comprising 16 boys and 16 girls, was scouted using AI-powered vests and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) scouts during the season.
“These players represent the best of the best. They’ll be traveling to Spain to be mentored and coached by top professionals and participate in a youth tournament against SD Huesca. It’s a tremendous opportunity for them to hone their skills and bring that experience back to Kenya,” said Vundla during the ceremony.
For many players, this trip marks their first flight and an incredible milestone. “One player shared how he’s moving from traveling by matatu to traveling by plane—proof that hard work and discipline can open global doors,” she added.
The Spain program includes a masterclass with professional coaches and exposure to a new culture, offering an enriching experience.
Vundla highlighted Safaricom’s commitment to nurturing sports and diversity, noting several players have progressed to national teams and professional leagues.
“This is about more than football; it’s about creating opportunities for growth and showcasing Kenya’s talent to the world. We’re proud to champion their journey,” she concluded.
