President William Ruto has said the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is being built into a broad-based national political party aimed at driving Kenya’s long-term transformation agenda beyond a single election cycle.

In a statement, the President said the ruling party is focused on forging partnerships with like-minded political movements across the country to strengthen unity and provide continuity in the implementation of the national development agenda.

Ruto said that through what he described as visionary leadership, political collaboration and a shared sense of purpose, UDA is being positioned as a strong political vehicle capable of sustaining Kenya’s development journey over the long term.

Reflecting on the party’s performance since taking office, the President said UDA has remained faithful to its manifesto and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda over the past three years. He added that the government is proud of its track record and remains committed to transforming Kenya into a first-world economy.

According to the President, key focus areas under the agenda include strategic investment in infrastructure, development of human capital, expansion of quality healthcare, increased agricultural production, industrialisation and job creation for young people.

Ruto made the remarks while hosting more than 17,000 UDA grassroots leaders from Nyeri County at Sagana State Lodge. The leaders were elected as polling centre officials during party elections held last week.

The President said the engagement with grassroots officials underscored the party’s commitment to strengthening its structures from the polling centre level as part of efforts to build a cohesive and inclusive national movement.
