Kennedy Murithi Bundi, a former NTV journalist, has expressed interest in being appointed to a state position by President William Ruto. His appeal comes after reports surfaced that Margaret Ndung’u, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT), had declined the President’s offer to serve as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.
Taking to his official social media platforms, Bundi, who was a senior reporter at NTV for a decade before leaving the station in January 2023, voiced his disappointment over Ndung’u’s decision to turn down the prestigious role. He described the news as shocking and regrettable.
“I was deeply shocked to learn that a former Cabinet Secretary has rejected a position offered by the President of the Republic of Kenya to serve as High Commissioner to Ghana,” Bundi stated in his post.
In his response, Bundi directly appealed to President Ruto, expressing his desire to be considered for the role that had been left vacant. “The President has urged us, the youth, to use the internet positively, and I am using this platform to formally apply for the High Commissioner position. I would be honored to serve our country in Ghana,” he added.
Bundi’s bold move to apply publicly and his plea for the President’s consideration has garnered attention among his followers and the wider public.
