Didmus Barasa, the Member of Parliament for Kimilili, has reassured students and parents of Lugulu Girls High School that their withheld Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 results have not been canceled. Barasa made the statement in response to concerns surrounding the delay, urging patience while the issue is resolved. He emphasized that the delay is temporary, adding that the results “can only be delayed for a few days, not indefinitely.”

“I am writing to the students and parents of Lugulu Girls High School, whose exams have been withheld by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). We understand your concerns, and I want to reassure you that the exams have not been canceled but simply withheld for verification purposes, similar to the VAR process in football,” said Barasa.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has withhold the KCSE results for candidates from Lugulu Girls High School in Bungoma County. This development came on the heels of the official release of the KCSE 2024 results by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on January 9, 2025.

In the meantime, the school’s administration has called for calm, urging the affected students and their families to remain patient as they seek clarity through the official appeal channels provided by KNEC.

In a letter addressed to parents and guardians, Principal Dinah Cheruiyot reassured them of the school’s efforts to resolve the situation. “We are aware that your child has not yet received their examination results. Please rest assured that we are addressing the matter, and the results will be made available in due course. Further communication will follow,” the letter stated.

The school thanked parents and guardians for their patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty.
