On February 25, a group of people arrived at Triza Njeri’s rural residence with the intention of resolving the marital challenges she was facing with her spouse, gospel artist Karangu Muraya. Present among the visitors were Triza’s parents, Margaret Wambui and Ngugi, who made a heartfelt appeal for their daughter to return to her home.
“Tunataka arudi nyumbani,” Margaret, Triza’s mother, pleaded, encouraging her daughter to come back. Acting as the family representative, Triza’s godfather, Joseph Wanyoike, noted that the family chose to manage the situation privately and refrain from involving social media. He also urged Triza to pick up her phone and come home to discuss the matter in detail.
Nevertheless, the unfolding situation led to varied reactions online. Some users expressed their dissatisfaction, criticizing the family’s public display of their plea. They felt the scenario was being leveraged for social media visibility rather than addressing the actual issues. One comment indicated that it seemed as if the family was being utilized for content, which detracted from the seriousness of the situation.
Conversely, many supporters rallied behind Triza, highlighting that she was the one best equipped to make choices regarding her marriage, as only she understood the complete context. Advocates emphasized that the choice to rekindle the relationship or separate should be a personal decision, untainted by public pressure or scrutiny.
