President William Ruto has reaffirmed that relations between Kenya and the United States remain strong, describing the partnership as cordial, stable and anchored on shared interests.
He said cooperation between the two countries spans trade, health, security, defence and regional stability.
Ruto highlighted the role of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), noting that it continues to give Kenyan and other Sub-Saharan African goods duty-free and quota-free access to the American market.
“Relations between Kenya and the United States are cordial, strong and enduring, anchored on shared interests and mutual benefit. Our cooperation ranges from trade, health and regional stability to security and defence,” he said on a statement on Wednesday.
He further noted that Kenya and the United States are expanding collaboration into conservation, including management of national parks, game reserves and beaches.
The President made the remarks after hosting US Congressional leaders at State House Nairobi. The delegation included Representatives Lola Zinke, Tom Suozzi, Guy Reschenthaler, and Julia Brownley.
Ruto said the engagement reflects ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between Nairobi and Washington, especially in emerging sectors of cooperation.
