President William Ruto has sent condolences to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

In a message of condolence, Ruto expressed deep sorrow over the death and conveyed sympathies on behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, the First Lady, his family and himself.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, the First Lady, my family and on my own behalf, I convey our heartfelt condolences to President Samia, her family and the people of Tanzania. President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,”he said.

Ruto described Hafidh Ameir Hassan as a distinguished Tanzanian, saying his death was a loss to President Samia, their children and the people of Tanzania.

“Kenya stands with our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in this moment of grief,” Ruto said.

He prayed for comfort and strength for President Samia and her family during the difficult period and for the deceased to be granted eternal rest.
