
President William Ruto has commenced his three-day tour of the Mount Kenya region with a series of engagements in Embu County.
Accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other local leaders, the President focused on launching and inspecting various development projects aimed at boosting the local economy and improving infrastructure.
Development Initiatives in Runyenjes
In Runyenjes, President Ruto inaugurated the construction of the Iriari-Kanyuambora Road, a critical infrastructure project set to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the region.

Additionally, he launched the Iriari Irrigation Project, which promises to bolster agricultural productivity by providing reliable water supply to local farmers.

Projects in Mbeere North and South
In Mbeere North, the President inspected the Kanyuambora Irrigation Scheme, designed to improve water management and support sustainable agriculture. He also initiated the construction of the Kaamumu Road, expected to ease transportation and access to markets for rural communities.

Mbeere South saw the launch of the Kamburu Bulky Water Project, aimed at addressing water scarcity and supporting local livelihoods.
President Ruto also inaugurated the Machanga County Industrial Park, a significant step towards industrialization and job creation in the area.
Supporting Youth and Local Traders
During his speech, President Ruto emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing all campaign manifestos and urged the youth to support his administration. He announced plans to establish ICT hubs in every ward in the region to enable youths to benefit from online jobs.
“I would like you people to support us to help in realization of the campaign promises and for sure we will deliver the plan we had,” Ruto said.
He further encouraged the youth to shun violence and work together to develop the country.

President Ruto also unveiled the Makutano ESP Market, a modern trading facility intended to provide local traders with improved business conditions and enhance the overall market experience for consumers.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua assured President Ruto of the region’s unwavering support, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to regional development.

Upcoming Visits to Kirinyaga and Murang’a Counties
President Ruto’s tour will continue with visits to Kirinyaga County on Thursday and Murang’a County on Friday. T
