President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bolstering the creative economy as a key avenue for job creation.
Speaking during the Kenya Music Festival State Concert at the State Lodge in Eldoret, the President highlighted the government’s strategic efforts to unlock opportunities in the creative arts through targeted investments and initiatives.
“We are investing in the creative economy to unlock the sector’s immense potential in creating gainful employment opportunities,” said President Ruto. He noted that Kenya’s creative arts sector, particularly in music, dance, and poetry, holds vast untapped talent that could significantly contribute to economic growth.
The State Concert, which was themed “Talent Development for Growth of the Creative Economy,” showcased various performances from young learners across the country. The event aligns with the government’s BETA Plan, which aims to promote and develop the creative industries as a means to generate sustainable employment for the country’s youth.
The President emphasized continued support for the Kenya Music Festivals, citing their critical role in identifying and nurturing raw talent across the country.
“In the creative arts, we will continue to support the Kenya Music Festivals to identify and nurture the raw and potent talent in music, dance, and poetry found in our young learners,” he stated.
