President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the country through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), saying earlier “difficult decisions” are now beginning to bear fruit.
Speaking at the Third National Executive Retreat held at the KCB Leadership Centre in Kajiado County, President Ruto acknowledged that the path to economic recovery and national transformation has been “bumpy and demanding.”
However, he noted that the government’s choices—though sometimes unpopular—are starting to deliver tangible results.
“The path to transforming our country has been bumpy, demanding, and has required us to make difficult decisions. Even so, we are proud of those decisions that are now paying dividends,” said the President.
The two-day retreat brings together senior government officials, including Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and members of the Executive.
The aim is to review the progress of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda, with a particular focus on economic growth, service delivery, and institutional performance.
President Ruto emphasized the need for unity within his administration and urged all departments to “remain focused” and work in synergy to accelerate progress.
“We remain focused as we build synergies that will spur our economic growth,” he added.
The retreat is expected to produce a performance report card, as well as identify areas where adjustments or renewed focus may be needed ahead of the 2026/27 financial year.
