Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has strongly dismissed claims of sponsoring goons who unleashed terror on demonstrators in the city on Tuesday, June 24.

In a recorded video statement, Sakaja termed the allegation as malicious, baseless and a smear campaign aimed at soiling his reputation.

The county boss boldly claimed that the said goons were hired by well-known individuals and political rivals and are now shifting the blame to him to tarnish his image.

"I want to state categorically that in my entire political career, I have never used violence to gain power. My mantra has been and continues to be Siasa Safi.
“These accusations are not only false but desperate attempts by politicians whose own careers are built on violence and intimidation. They have gone as far as hiring goons and even dressing them with County-linked accessories like the Dishi na County watch to make it appear they work for us,” said Sakaja.

Sakaja urged Nairobians to remain vigilant and not be misled by rogue politicians with a selfish agenda.
