Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the continued growth of the Democrats for the Citizen Party (DCP), following the reception of a new gubernatorial aspirant from Kiambu County.

In a statement issued after a meeting at the party headquarters in Nairobi, Gachagua confirmed that businessman John Mwaura Kogi had officially joined the party and will be seeking the Kiambu governorship under the DCP ticket.

Gachagua congratulated Mwaura for what he termed as a bold political move, expressing confidence in his leadership ambitions.

“Our party continues to grow exponentially across the country. We welcome leaders who are committed to serving the people,” he said.

The DCP leader emphasized that the party is anchored on a people-centered approach to governance, noting that inclusive leadership is key to meaningful development.

“There can be no meaningful development in any society if it does not involve the people,” he added.

He further assured aspirants across the country of credible nomination processes, pledging that the party will conduct free and fair primaries ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“As a party, we assure all candidates that we shall conduct free and fair party primaries across the country,” Gachagua said.

He also called on supporters to remain committed to the party’s ideals as it continues to strengthen its presence nationwide.
