Kenyans are so happy to hear the news that the two Kenyan athletes, Faith Cherotich and Reynold Cheruiyot, did an incredible job at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Through the President William Ruto, he communicated to them the best wishes and the brightest congratulations for their achievements.
Cherotich was the winner of the women’s 3000m steeplechase and thus became a part of the victory of the gold medal trophies that Kenya had already won at the Championships.
The President of the Republic went on to applaud her for embodying the key virtues of discipline, courage, and focus and said that her victory is absolutely inspiring to the whole Kenyan nation.
“Congratulations Faith Cherotich on an outstanding performance at the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. This is the achievement that counts the gold medals for Kenya to four,” Ruto said.
In the men’s 1500m, Cheruiyot finished third and won the bronze medal. The president saw the performance as great and as an example of true courage.
The President recognized the work and commitment that resulted in Cheruiyot making a significant contribution to Kenya’s pride in sports.
The two athletes’ wins have once again pointed to Kenya as a country that is not to be underestimated in track and field sports.
