Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced that the Democratic Congress Party (DCP) will be officially launched to the public on June 4, 2025.

Gachagua made the announcement on Thursday during a high-profile event in Nairobi, where he unveiled the party’s symbols and introduced its interim National Executive Committee (NEC) officials.

Among the notable leaders named in the interim team are United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General Cleophas Malala, former Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru, and veteran politician Maina Kamanda, signaling a bold political realignment ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“This party is a vehicle of unity and development. We are preparing for a serious political journey that puts the interests of Kenyans first,” Gachagua said during the launch.

The DCP’s unveiling comes amid heightened political activity across the country, with the new party expected to play a significant role in shaping the political future of the Mount Kenya region and beyond.
