Deputy president nominee Kithure Kindiki will be sworn in tomorrow, Friday, November 1.
The event will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi from 10am.
The swearing-in announcement comes hours after the High Court lifted conservatory orders that had blocked Kindiki from assuming the Office of the Deputy President.
Petitioners David Munyi and Peter Gichobi had moved to court to stop the event until the hearing of cases against Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment.
However, the three-judge bench, Eric Ogola, Justice Anthony Mrima and Fredah Mugambi ruled to discharge the conservatory orders.
The judges argued that it is in the interest of the public that the office of the deputy president cannot remain vacant.
