President William Ruto has conveyed deep condolences on behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya to the nation of Ethiopia following a tragic landslide in Gozdi Kebele.
The disaster has resulted in significant loss of life and left many families in mourning.
The death toll from landslides in Ethiopia has risen to over 400 and is expected to almost double, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) said on Thursday.
President Ruto expressed solidarity with the Ethiopian people.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, I extend heartfelt condolences to our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia for the loss of lives in the landslide in Gozdi Kebele,”he said.
He further extended prayers and support to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, acknowledging the challenges faced during this difficult time.
“We pray for Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during this difficult time,” President Ruto added, emphasizing the close ties and shared humanity between the two neighboring nations.
