President William Ruto has called on grassroots leaders across the country to spearhead public participation in the proposed National Development Charter, saying the initiative must reflect the aspirations of ordinary Kenyans.
In a statement, the President urged local leaders to take ownership of the national conversation and ensure it remains inclusive, citizen-driven and focused on the country’s long-term development.
“We call on leaders at the grassroots to champion the national conversation I have proposed on the National Development Charter and to ensure the outcome is people-driven, citizen-centred and future-focused,” President Ruto said.
The Head of State said broad public engagement will be critical in shaping a shared national vision that transcends political interests and addresses Kenya’s long-term development priorities.
The proposed National Development Charter is expected to provide a framework for national dialogue on governance, economic transformation and sustainable development, with input from citizens across the country.
