Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling unemployment in Kenya through a comprehensive three-pronged strategy.
In a statement shared on his social media, Kindiki explained that the government is prioritizing job creation by focusing on three key areas: creating employment opportunities locally through affordable housing and other infrastructural programs.
He note that the government is also ready in promotion of digital jobs through the establishment of ICT hubs and business outsourcing, and facilitating international labour mobility to provide Kenyans with job opportunities abroad.

“The government is prioritizing the creation of job opportunities for Kenyans through these innovative strategies, ensuring employment both locally and internationally,” Kindiki said.
He highlighted that the affordable housing projects and other infrastructural developments will generate significant employment within the country, especially in the construction and related sectors.
In addition, the establishment of ICT hubs and business outsourcing initiatives is aimed at tapping into the growing digital economy, providing young Kenyans with opportunities to engage in digital jobs.

Furthermore, the international labour mobility program will facilitate Kenyans’ access to employment opportunities abroad, helping reduce unemployment while fostering international collaboration.
This morning, Kindiki received an inception technical briefing at his Karen Residence from several key government officials ahead of a whole-of-government tracking and accountability consultative forum set to convene next week.
The forum is expected to assess the progress of these job creation initiatives and address any challenges encountered in their implementation.

Present at the briefing were Principal Secretaries Shadrack Mwadime from Labour, Roseline Njogu from Diaspora Affairs, and Idriss Salim Dakota from Cabinet Affairs, alongside Amb. Isaiya Kabira, Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Edith Okoki, Director General of the National Employment Authority, Theresa Wasike, Acting Director-General of the National Industrial Training Authority, and Glenns Etyang, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
