Kenyan gospel singer Ringtone Apoko has compared his recent legal troubles to the persecution of Jesus Christ. The controversial artist was recently arrested in connection with a dispute over a piece of land in Nairobi’s upscale Karen area, valued at around KSh 50 million.

In an emotional public appearance, Ringtone claimed he was unfairly treated and questioned whether justice still exists in the country. He lamented being forcibly removed from what he says is his rightful property and expressed frustration over the handling of the case, which saw him arrested for allegedly skipping a court date.

Despite the backlash and legal issues, Ringtone remained defiant, insisting that he is the victim of a corrupt system. Drawing a biblical comparison, he said, “Even Jesus once used force in the temple,” suggesting that sometimes bold action is necessary to stand up for what is right. According to him, he is being misunderstood and targeted, much like Christ was during his time on Earth.
