Gladys Wanga has said Kenya’s political landscape is undergoing a major shift, driven by a more informed and demanding youth population.

Speaking during the ODM Youth Convention held at Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi, Wanga noted that young people are increasingly holding leaders accountable and demanding tangible opportunities beyond political rhetoric.

“The political ground has shifted. Today’s Kenyan youth are vigilant, informed, and demanding more than rhetoric,” she said.

The Homa Bay governor emphasized that loyalty from young people must be matched with real opportunities, especially in the face of a challenging economic environment.

The convention brought together youth leaders aligned to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), with the party reaffirming its commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of young people.

Wanga described the gathering as more than a political event, terming it a platform for building a genuine partnership between the party and the youth.

“ODM is committed to being the bridge between today’s struggles and tomorrow’s solutions,” she said.

She assured attendees that the party leadership had listened to their concerns and would work alongside them to drive change.

“We have heard you. We assure you: we are in this together until the very end,” Wanga added.
