The Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority (NCTTCA), in partnership with the Kenya National Highways Authority, has launched the Regional Highway Safety Investor’s Conference.

The conference is aimed at enhancing road safety and attracting investment along the Northern Corridor.

The two-day forum, which began on March 31, 2026, brings together stakeholders from six member states to review progress in the Roadside Stations (RSS) programme and explore new investment opportunities in transport infrastructure.

Speaking during the opening, NCTTCA Executive Secretary Diar Deng said the corridor is steadily transforming into a globally competitive logistics and economic lifeline, driven by investments in infrastructure, digital systems, and road safety.

He noted that roadside stations are critical facilities that go beyond rest stops, helping to reduce road accidents, improve driver welfare, enhance cargo security, and support local economies.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, who graced the event, emphasized the importance of the Northern Corridor in regional trade, calling for safer, smarter, and climate-resilient transport systems.

Chirchir urged investors to take advantage of opportunities under Public-Private Partnerships to develop modern roadside infrastructure, saying such investments will strengthen regional connectivity, boost trade, and drive economic growth across the corridor.
