Veteran investigative journalist Kurgat Marindany has died after a short illness, his family has confirmed.

Marindany was renowned for his fearless style of journalism, with a career that spanned decades through some of Kenya’s biggest media outlets. He was a reporter with Daily Nation, The Standard, and Kajiado County Press, before becoming an independent journalist and media consultant at a later point.
