Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has been voted England Men’s Player of the Year for the 2024–25 season, capping off another stellar campaign on the international stage.

The 22-year-old edged out fellow midfielders Declan Rice and Harry Kane in a fan vote to claim the prestigious award.

Bellingham becomes only the second player to win the honour while playing for a non-English club, the first being Owen Hargreaves, who earned the accolade in 2006 while at Bayern Munich.

Bellingham featured in eight matches for the national team over the past year, playing a key role in England’s promotion in the UEFA Nations League under interim coach Lee Carsley, and later contributing in the opening rounds of 2026 World Cup qualifiers under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Among his standout performances was a goal against Greece in October 2024. He also provided two assists and won a penalty in a November clash with the Republic of Ireland, and registered another assist against Albania in March during World Cup qualifying.

The award comes after a challenging summer for Bellingham, who underwent shoulder surgery in July and missed several weeks of action.

However, he returned to fitness in September and is expected to be available for England’s upcoming fixtures against Wales on October 9 and Latvia on October 14.

Bellingham succeeds last year’s winner, Cole Palmer, while Bukayo Saka claimed the award in the two years prior.
