A light-hearted but remarkably pointed message from Kenya’s President William Ruto, has sparked spirited conversations online, urging Kenyans aged 25 and above to consider settling down instead of “jumping from one club to another.”

Speaking at a recent event, the President was able to convey that message in a humorous manner, almost parental in tone:“Those of you above the age of 25, get married! Wacha kuzunguka hapa, unatoka club hii ukiingia club hii, unaenda hiyo ingine…”

The comment quickly went viral on social media, inspiring countless memes, jokes, and heated debates about modern dating culture, economic realities, and the growing pressure on young adults to marry. Entertainment pages were particularly delighted, turning the quote into viral content in a matter of hours.

The President also contemplated his own path into marriage using his experience to encourage young people:

“I was 25 when I got married to Rachael, I am told nowadays 25 is too young to get married. I want to encourage young people to be responsible and start families, every parent wants to see their child married.”

The comments received various reactions. Some netizens joked that this sounded like a “public service announcement for serial club hoppers,” while others chimed in to say that financial pressure makes it almost impossible to settle down at 25. All the same, many were charmed by the jollity and warmth of the message, saying it was like something one receives at a boisterous family gathering.
