Elsewhere, UDA’s Ahmed Maalim Hassan garnered 10,431 votes to be declared the Banissa Constituency MP-elect. He edged out Nurdin Maalim of UPA.
In Baringo, Chemitei Kiprono Cheburet, who also vied on UDA, has clinched the senatorial seat in the considered one-horse race.
In the mini-poll, the ruling party secured eight Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats.
They include Isabella Leshimpiro, who won the Angata Nanyekie Ward seat in Samburu with 1,239 votes; Vincent Ruto Kiplimo, who clinched the Chemundu Kapngetuny Ward seat in Nandi; John Namesek Erot, who won the Lake Zone ward; and Cosmas Long’or Napeikar, who took the Naanam Ward seat, both in Turkana County.
