President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing key development programmes, including affordable housing, the Social Health Authority, and agricultural reforms, despite mounting political pressure and criticism from opposition leaders.
Speaking during a Sunday church service in Makadara, Nairobi County, President Ruto dismissed what he termed as “retrogressive politics,” stating that his focus remains firmly on delivering services to Kenyans.
He emphasized that political distractions will not derail his development agenda.“I have no time for divisive and retrogressive politics. My responsibility is to serve Kenyans and transform our country through meaningful development,” said the President.
The head of state singled out the Affordable Housing Programme as a cornerstone of his government’s plan to uplift the lives of ordinary Kenyans.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring more citizens become homeowners, despite increasing public skepticism and legal challenges facing the project.“Affordable housing is not just about buildings; it is about dignity, jobs, and ownership. We will not stop until every Kenyan has a decent place to call home,” he stated.
On health reforms, the Head of State highlighted the progress of the new Social Health Authority, which he said has already registered 23 million Kenyans. He described the new system as a game-changer in making healthcare universally accessible and equitable.“Our health reforms are on course.
With 23 million already registered under the Social Health Authority, we are closer to achieving universal health coverage for all Kenyans,” he noted.
The President also reiterated the government’s commitment to modernizing the agriculture sector, aiming to boost food security and empower farmers.
Ruto’s remarks come amid rising political temperatures and growing public scrutiny of some of his administration’s flagship programmes.
However, the President maintained that his government remains focused on delivering tangible development that positively impacts the lives of ordinary citizens.
