Paul Pogba will leave Juventus on November 30 after the club and the French midfielder reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
The 31-year-old, who was handed a four-year suspension in February for a doping violation, saw his ban reduced in October to 18 months, retroactively starting from his provisional suspension in September 2023.
Sources indicate Pogba will be eligible to resume training in January 2025 and can return to playing from March onwards. As a result, he will be free to sign with a new club during the January transfer window.
Juventus expressed their best wishes to Pogba for the future, with a club statement reading: “The club wishes Paul the very best for his professional future.”
Before his suspension, Pogba earned £6.9m annually at Juventus, with a contract set to run until June 2026. However, it is believed that the club had reduced his salary to around £2,000 a month, as part of an agreement between clubs and the players’ union.
Pogba’s playing time has been limited in recent seasons. He appeared in just five games, totaling 162 minutes, during the 2022-23 season. Last season, he played a mere 51 minutes as a substitute before his suspension.
The reduction of his ban and his departure from Juventus offer Pogba the opportunity to relaunch his career next year.
Pogba began his professional career at Manchester United before moving to Juventus, where he won four consecutive Serie A titles and two domestic Doubles.
