Tiktok has released community guidelines enforcement for Quarter two 2024. The report sheds light on Tiktok’s approach to moderating content in Kenya and worldwide. It provides insight into the content and the Tiktok accounts that violated community guidelines and were removed over the reporting period.
According to the report, 0.3% of the total videos uploaded in the country that translates to more than 360,000 videos were deleted from Tiktok in Kenya.
According to reports, 99.1% of the videos were removed before the users reported them while 95% of the videos were taken in a span of 24 hours.
60,465 Tiktok accounts were banned because they violated Tiktok’s Community Guidelines. A total number of 57,262 accounts were deleted since their users were suspected to be under 13 years of age.
In June this year, the tiktok platform removed more than 178 million videos worldwide , 144 million of the videos were removed through automation.
These advancements have minimized exposure of violative material to Tiktok users. The proactive detection rate is at 98.2% worldwide.
